The Sunil Foundation has been created to preserve the works of Sunil Gangopadhyay to ensure that they remain accessible to future generations of readers and scholars. The Foundation has been established by his wife Swati Gangopadhyay and only child Shouvik Gangopadhyay.

 

The Foundation (currently established in the United States) will work to preserve and promote his work, as well strive to support literature in general and Bengali literature in particular. Completely virtual at this point, the foundation has a goal to eventually establish a permanent center to serve as an archive and reading room/research center, while also trying to find suitable homes for his manuscripts and other appropriate memorabilia.
